The Real WorldOften times, people say that school never prepared them for the real world.
You know… the world where people work, deal with customers, and handle problems all on their own. You see, Chick-fil-A has helped to prepare me in ways that school never could. 1. How to Deal with people In school, you can pretty much keep to yourself and you’ll be fine. However, in a work environment, you are forced to interact with people who have all different kinds of personalities. This means treating a crying baby and an old man with the same grace, ease, and confidence. 2. Problem Solving It’s mid lunch rush, the line is longer than you’ve ever seen it before and it just so happens that you messed up someones order. But it’s okay… you know why? Because you’ve been put under pressure before. You know your abilities and you are confident in handling the issue at hand. Despite making a mistake (which happens to the best of us), you remain calm, cool, and collected. 3. Remaining Positive If there’s one thing I could tell my younger self, it would be to STAY POSITIVE. Since starting my job at Chick-fil-A, I’ve been able to compare how a positive work environment functions as opposed to a negative one. Like clockwork. We lift each other up, crack a joke every now and then, always keep a smiles on our faces, and radiate joy to those around us. Because being happy is SO much easier than being sad! All in all, my Chick-fil-A job has prepared me for the real world in more ways than I could've ever imagined. I am forever grateful of the journey I am on with the most amazing company in the world... The real world.
